Exercise professionals can now take advantage of the Healthy Start Workforce project’s programmes and qualify for professional development points.

The Register of Exercise Professionals has approved both the Healthy Conversation Skills workshop and the online education programme for CPD points for its members.

Healthy Conversation Skills will qualify for 3.75 CPD points, while the online education programme will qualify for 2.5 CPD points.

Healthy Start Workforce project lead, Susan Miller says Healthy Conversation Skills, in particular is ideally suited for exercise professionals.

“Exercise professionals are working with people every day who are wanting to change their behaviour in order to improve health.  The simple yet effective tools they’ll learn with our workshop will help them to support clients to make lasting behaviour change for long-term health,” she says.

The Healthy Start Workforce programmes are now endorsed by the Register of Exercise Professionals, the Royal College of GPs, the College of Nurses Aotearoa and the New Zealand College of Midwives.
